Music Video Analysis
The video, 'I don't feel like dancin' but the Scissor Sisters uses a green screen to create all if visual effects. Throughtout the video, the green screen is used to place actors/singers in different backgroundm mostly different and unrealistic, making the video look futuristic. The use of the green screen also meant that the band were able to pull out singers and actors from other famous music videos and place them in different scenarios throughout the video. The use of green screen technology, also meant that other visual effects, such as fire and explosion could be added to the video easily, and because of the overall effect of the video nothing looks or feels out of place (the band and video are seen as fairly 'random'). The video effects used are very effective, and I believe it wouldnt disinterest the audience because the background and scenes are constantly changing (unlike most music videos set in one particular place). It also makes the video fun and random, linking with the style of the band and their music. The use of the older musicians and actors in the video, can also make the video humorous and relatable to other audiences, and people who wouldn't particularly listen to the Scissor Sisters music. I particularly liked the bands usage of green screen because I always thought that you would use this technique for a small segment of a video, not all of it. Green Screens also allow you to create a different enviroment or place that is unrealistic or may not be accesible to you, which generally can be very beneficial in creating an interesting video.
